Farmobile obtains US patent for agricultural data collection and exchange system

Farmobile LLC has announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued U.S. Patent No. 10,963,825, entitled “Agricultural Data Collection and Exchange System.”

The patent relates to a cloud-based agricultural data collection and exchange system capable of capturing, processing and sharing machine-generated data while being used for agricultural operations, such as fertilization, planting. , spraying or harvesting crops on a field. The patented in-line system includes a relay device installed in the farm vehicle that automatically receives, stores and processes detailed machine and farming data captured by the machine during farming operations.

Patented technology enables real-time collection, tracking, monitoring, sharing and monetization of critical farm data. This includes activities such as: how much seed, fertilizer, water and pesticides were used in a particular field; how many times the field has been treated with a particular chemical; which parts of the field have not been processed; weather conditions during farming; the equipment used to carry out the farming operation; the settings of the equipment activated and / or deactivated during farming; and which field was treated during the farming operation. The patent claims priority over the 2013 patent application filed by co-founders and inventors Jason G. Tatge, Heath Garret Gerlock and Randall Thomas Nuss. The patent expires September 22, 2034.

“When we are able to leverage high integrity data as a record system, we not only empower our customers to make better decisions, but we help them find additional revenue generating opportunities with these packages. of data. For example, as carbon credits increasingly become a regulatory target, our customers will be able to use these interoperable data sets to recover costs based on the sustainability of their operations, ”said Jason Tatge, CEO of Farmobile. .
